How to Care for your Artwork

Original Watercolor Artwork

1.  Original watercolor artwork MUST be matted.  Watercolor should never come in contact with the frame glass in case humidity becomes an issue - the watercolors will reactivate and possibly smudge and smear turning your artwork into an abstract piece.

2.  Best practice is to frame using conservation glass.  This has UV protection to protect your artwork from dulling and fading over time.

3.  Do not hang your artwork in areas of high humidity.  Moisture is not a friend to paper.

4.  Hang your artwork in areas of indirect sunlight.  The pigments in many watercolor colors are sensitive and will fade if placed in direct sunlight for long periods of time.

Giclee Prints

My Giclee prints are printed on professional acid free 100% cotton paper.  They will stand the test of time with these guidelines -

1.  Hang in indirect sunlight and in areas that will not become humid. Sun and water will damage paper.
